I recently had the pleasure of chatting with Art Wiederman on his podcast, The Art of Dental Finance & Management.
Art usually covers topic related to managing a dental practice and the financials that go along with it. But he felt like this current job market and the challenges dentist continue to have in getting thier offices fully staffed needed to be address.
He asked many questions about hiring including, pleasing the job boards, writing an effective job post that gets applicants to apply and how to convert them to employees once you have their resume in hand. We even chatted about the current economic state of this country and how it could effect the dental field.
Here is Art’s description of the podcast:
It’s no secret that dentistry has faced a drastic staffing shortage since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The American Dental Association reported in 2022 that vacant positions in dental assisting and hygiene have reduced dental practice capacity by an estimated 10% nationally.
In this episode of the Art of Dental Finance and Management, Art is joined by Holli Perez for a conversation about dental staffing. From crafting a successful job advertisement to building an effective onboarding process, Holli shares advice for attracting, hiring, and retaining new employees at every level — as well as some of the most common recruiting mistakes she sees in dental practices.
Art is such a gracious host and I always enjoy getting to chat with him. If you want to listen into the podcast –
